11 Months Old

It doesn't matter how many times you say it, or hear other people talk about it, or have your mother remind you about it - it is true that children grow up too quickly! The very fact that Claire has under a month until her first birthday is just plain crazy. Ridiculous even. Which probably means that the task of planning a first birthday party should be tackled sooner rather than later.

Even though Claire is now officially 11 months old, she is very petite, as evidenced by her 0-3 month shoes that fit perfectly. She is incredibly active, crawls a mile a minute, and pulls up to investigate nearly everything - but has zero interest in walking. It is incredible to watch her personality continue to develop.

"It Sure is a Nice Day"

That's what our three year old son Hudson told us today as he was peddling his three wheeler down the sidewalk on the way to the neighborhood ice cream store. I followed behind, with ten month old Claire perched in the stroller beneath a lemon yellow sun hat. Bryan was up ahead with our digital camera, grabbing some video footage of our outing, sure to be used in some future family video.

The truth is, Hudson hit the nail on the head. It sure was a nice day today - sunny, mild and just enough of a breeze to keep cool and comfortable. It was a nice day to spend time eating ice cream as a family and then playing in the backyard. We snapped some great pictures before heading in for the night.
